I’ve been shopping around and looking at used paintball guns for some time now and I finally picked up a Tippman 98C.

I’m stoked that I finally found a used Tippman at a decent price because Tippman is well known for making high quality paintball guns that last forever and are easy to maintain.

When I first started looking it felt like I would never find a TIppman because practically everyone that was selling was selling off cheaper and lower end paintball guns like Spyders and other brands I had never heard of.

While it may be ok to buy a Spyder brand new, especially because they’re still pretty cheap for automatics, buying it used is a risk because they’re not that durable. Tippman’s on the other hand or made to last.

I was kinda worried at first when I bought the paintball gun because I bought it on eBay. I did everything I could beforehand though to make sure the guy was a legit seller. I spoke to him on the phone, I got him to send me additional photos of the Tippman and I asked him why he was getting rid of it.

I was really surprised when I got the Tippman by UPS because the gun was in terrific shape. I’ve already used it and I’m convinced that I got a great deal. For those of you that don’t want to invest in a new paintball gun you may want to take a look at some used paintball guns and see if you can find something decent out there.

If you intend to have a good time playing paintball it really is really important that you wear the appropriate clothes.Going out to play paintball with the appropriate clothes will ensure a good time as well as minimize your odds of getting hurt. A lot of folks think that you have to wear gear and clothing specifically for paintball and that’s just not true.

Every now and then I’ll see someone out there playing in shorts and a t-shirt and that’s just not enough protection to be frank. There will also be folks that get out of hand and look like they just came out of their local paintball gear shop. You can spend a small fortune on paintball clothes like pants and a jersey but at the end of the day it won’t improve the way you play. When deciding what to wear it is important to wear something you’ll be comfortable in, wear something that’s flexible and cover as much skin as possible.

The most important thing when considering what to wear when playing paintball is to cover yourself from head to toe. If you are wearing casual clothes try not to wear anything too light because the paint could stain it permanently. If wearing your own gear, wear clothes that are preferably thick, wear clothes that cover your arms and legs and finally wear something that is loose enough to allow you to be flexible.

What you have to realize about paintball is that you get dirty from playing because you’ll often end up  on the ground, on your knees and crawling on your elbows so wear appropriate clothing. When it comes to your clothes just keep it simple… choose clothes that are comfortable and that cover as much of you as possible.

I get a lot of questions about camouflage and all I have to say is that paintball isn’t real combat so camo may be overkill. A lot of folks worry about whether or not playing paintball will hurt and paintballs can and will bruise and welt your skin so again… wear clothes that are a little thicker (like a sweatshirt) that cover your arms and legs. A really savvy paintballer will wear something to cover his neck or just apply sunscreen to protect the back of his neck from sun burn.

Probably the most important piece of gear you will wear out to the paintball field is a paintball mask. A paintball mask will protect your face, your ears and your eyes. Under no circumstances should you play paintball without a minimum of goggles but I strongly recommend you wear a paintball mask. The biggest chance you have for getting seriously injured on the paintball field is by not protecting your eyes.

At the end of the day you want to be comfortable in your clothing and you want to cover your arms and legs if at all possible. Something I haven’t covered yet is wearing gloves to protect your hands as they can also be susceptible. Most paintball guns fire paintballs at a velocity of 250-300 feet per second so it really is important to wear clothing that is thick enough to absorb that. If you plan on playing paintball, wear clothes that are functional and follow the advice in this article and you should be ok.

If you are new to the game of paintball and you desire to learn the basics and fundamentals of the game early on I highly recommend you pick up a pump paintball gun. Pump paintball guns are looked down upon by lots of paintballers but the reality is that pump paintball guns are actually better for you personally if you’re just getting started with paintball. Often the rationale is that the owner of a pump paintball gun would be at a disadvantage on the paintball field against owners of automatic paintball guns. True enough playing with a pump paintball gun will put you at a disadvantage but it will also give you the chance to hone and improve your overall game as well.

When playing paintball it is often the players who have practiced with pump paintball guns that have a distinct advantage on the paintball field. Sure electric guns fire a lot faster but will they help you become more accurate? Not only are pump paintball gun users more accurate out of necessity but they tend to be more accurate also because paintballing guns themselves tend to be more accurate. Pump paintball guns are just steadier in your hands then electric paintballing guns when you fire and this leads to more accurate shots. You add this to the fact that pump paintballers are more accurate because they have far fewer shots and you usually end up with a more polished player.

If you are having trouble with your accuracy you may want to consider practicing on the paintball field with a pump paintball gun. Practicing with a pump paintball gun will not only improve your game but it will also help you become a better strategist on the paintball field. Users of automatic paintball guns often don’t develop any other parts of their paintball game and strictly rely on the “spray and pray” mentality and this won’t happen if you practice with a pump paintball gun. If you’re looking for a surefire way to improve your paintball game try practicing with a pump paintball gun.

In Paintball the paintball gun seems to get all of the glory and deservedly so because paintball guns are frankly pretty awesome. This is fine and all but when you’re just starting out with paintball you’d be surprised what “other” piece of equipment could really help make you a better paintball player…

In my opinion the paintball mask is by far the second most important piece of equipment in paintball. My girlfriend turned into a much better paintball player when I got her a really good paintball mask (it’s pink… I had to do it) with thermal lenses.

She said it made her a much more confident player out on the paintball field because before she was always worried about getting hit in the face with paintballs. Personally I couldn’t relate with her because I’ve always played with a paintball mask but the other day I decided to put my new found theory to a test.

The test was I would go out and play with goggles on and nothing else to cover my face or ears. Frankly I’m a bit worried about the ears and I can see already how not playing with a paintball mask would change the way you play.

If you want your own semi-automatic but you’re on a budget then maybe go with something from Spyder.

Paintball guns come in all shapes and sizes with various manufacturers specializing in different things like speed, reliability and so forth.

Right next to your paintball gun as far as importance goes is a paintball mask in my opinion. A good paintball mask will protect your eyes, face and ears from stray paintballs. Something else you’ll want to look for in your paintball mask are thermal lenses which are lenses that don’t fog up because you’ll be breathing hard when you’re playing paintball. Aside from that just make you grab something that is lightweight and comfortable and you’ll be fine.

You’re obviously going to need ammo for your paintball gun and in paintball that means paintballs. The most important thing with regards to paintballs is that they be the right size for your paintball gun barrell. The wrong size paintballs are really hard to shoot accurately. The paintballs go into this thing called a hopper and the hopper loads the paintballs into the paintball gun chamber. Hoppers come in various sizes… smalls hoppers are light but they don’t hold many paintballs while larger ones are heavier but they also hold a lot more paintballs.

There’s a lot of other protective gear out there on the market but frankly none of it is necessary. Some folks like to wear elbow and knee pads as well as paintball pants but these are the paintballers that are jumping, diving and crawling all over the paintball field so you can see why they would need that stuff.

Quite frankly there’s nothing that really comes close to playing paintball other then maybe actual combat itself. If you are a beginner to paintball and you want to save some money then renting your gear is a good option for you. With that in mind it’s a good idea to check with your local paintball facility to make sure they rent the paintball guns and protective equipment you’ll need in advance. Above all, make sure you wear the appropriate protective gear on the field of battle if you want to assure yourself a good time.

When choosing a paintball battlefield, there are a lot of various things to keep in consideration. It’s a good idea to check ahead to make sure that the paintballing facility you plan on visitiung has everything you will require to have a great time. Amenities

The first you want to do is look into the facility maybe see if you can find some images online of the lay out. Are the playing areas indoors or outdoors and how many are there? There’s no doubt about it, paintball is a lot more fun when the paintball battlefield has all kinds of junk thrown about.

Gear

Knowing what kind of equpment the paintballing facility rents out is also really good information to habe beforehand. Obviously you want to play at a paintball facility that has high-quality equipment so you can get the full experience of paintballing. If the players are not paintballing gun experts they can consult with someone who is to make sure that the gear they are providing is of a decent make. Every paintballing playing field is various in what they offer so it’s a good idea to check them out before your paintballing date. Finally ensure to ask if they rent masks and goggles if you plan on wearing such equpment and don’t plan on bringing any.

Prices

Last but certainly not least…how much do they charge? It’s also a good idea to ask about their pricing on other pieces of gear as well. Some places tend to charge a bit on the high side for this kind of gear so ensure to check out the prices to but some goggles or a mask before heading out. Some places will only let you use their paintballs so make sure to read all the rules before you play. If you don’t have any friends that paintball you can check on the internet for some reviews of your local paintballing facilities.

Paintballing can indeed be fun for the whole family and safety can be ensured by taking a few steps to before the paintball outing. Be safe, have fun and above all plan ahead.

Paintball is an electric and fun pastime. Paintball has an undeserved rep for being dangerous by many. Most paintball areas are designed so the whole family unit can have a good time. Like any hobby, paintball has various levels and types of games to play. My favorite is “capture the flag”. As a boy, I used to go hunting with my father. Hunting isn’t politically correct anymore and it’s not something that I consider fun anymore. Paintball gives me the same feeling of excitement and accomplishes what I am looking for in a weekend recreational activity.

After you’ve played for a bit you’ll have a much better idea of what you’ll want in a paintball marker and you’ll be in a better position to make a good decision.

There is a lot of upside, fun and enjoyment and very little danger, if any, in paintball! Like most other sports and activities it’s great at alleviating stress and spending some time with the family unit. If you want to know a little more then it’s probably best to talk to some friends and see what they have to say about the hobby.
